Risk assessment
The manufacturer must carry out a risk assessment on toys before placing them on the market. The importer must ensure that the risk assessment has been carried out.
The risk assessment must analyse the hazards that the properties of the toy may cause and assess the child’s potential exposure to them.
The risk assessment can draw attention to the toy’s

- physical
- chemical
- electrical
- radioactive and flammable properties, and
- the cleanliness and hygiene of the toy.
